Welcome to the Cranleigh RBL Bowls Club Website Home page.

Cranleigh RBL Bowls, a section of the Royal British Legion, was founded in 1933, and has approximately 70 men, ladies and two junior members (ages 12 and 14).

The Club has enjoyed increased competitiveness and success over the past few years. We are fortunate in having one of the best greens in Surrey, built in 1995. This is confirmed by our club producing the following Surrey Champions in the county competitions, since the green was laid:

1995 L Thompson - Secretary's Champion
1997 M Overington - Champion of Champions
1997 M Overington T Wheeler A Lewis L Thompson - Fours Champions
1998 M Overington G DuVergier - Pairs Champions

2001 M Overington R Ottley - Pairs Champions and EBA Pairs Finalists
2002 M Overington G DuVergier A Lewis L Thompson - Fours Champions

If you are a novice, why not come to our 'Introduction to Bowls' morning at 10.00am on Sunday 27 April 2008. We will provide you with woods and flat shoes, if required. If you want to join us before the introduction, just turn up at our annual get-together at 7.30pm in the RBL club on Wednesday 9 April 2008.

We also have 18 badged bowlers who are available to train and educate new bowlers in all aspects of bowling etiquette and skills. Please contact our Secretary Graham Robinson on 01483 422935 or email: grahamcrblbc@fsmail.net or Match Secretary Len Thompson on 01483 274535 or email: len@sportsdraw.co.uk
The subscriptions for bowls members is considered as reasonable at £65 per annum plus the cost of the RBL membership.

This site is a means for Cranleigh bowlers and our friends in the bowling world to see the latest news, fixture lists and results together with details of our 'Open Day' competition organised by the Club.

We have included a location page showing a map of our green and nearby locality, our address and telephone number plus a photograph of our excellent club house and facilities. Touring parties are welcome and we have a separate, private function room which caters for parties of up to 100. The quality of our green is confirmed with it being used by Bowls England for playing the area finals of the Two Fours competition, Surrey County BA for playing other counties (Hampshire this year), and the County Fours semi-finals, Essex CBA for their match against the IOW CBA, Surrey RBL and Sussex RBL, plus West Surrey BA, as can be seen from our fixture list. There is still spare capacity available throughout the season.

Every organisation relies on its Officers and Committee to carry out the day-to-day running through the season and beyond. For 2008 we have a range of officers who have proved to be very capable todate.

Fixtures for both Men and Ladies for this season are shown together with results as the matches are played.

The Open Day Competition shows last years draw and result. Invitations will be sent to all our regulars for this year's competition.

'Newspage' contains club competition draws and snippets of news from the Club and a rogues gallery. Please let me have any good photos you think should be included.
